To increase the digital connectivity and to make governance more transparent, Digital India initiative has launched some amazing projects.

Here are 12 of them:

Digi Locker –

This service was launched as one of the most important facility for storing crucial documents like Pan Card, Voter Id, Driving License, BPL Card, education certificates, etc. in the cloud.

  1. MyGov.in –

This portal works as an online platform for engaging citizens in governance process through a “Discuss”, “Do” and” Disseminate” approach.

  1. eSign Framework –

This initiative will enable all users to sign a document digitally, by using the Aadhaar card’s authentication.

  1. Swach Bharat Mission mobile app –

This application enables both, organizations and citizens, to access all the important information regarding the cleanliness of this country and achieve the goals of the mission.

  1. National Scholarship Portal –

The aim of this initiative is to make the scholarship process easy. Starting from submitting the application, then verification, sanction and disbursal to end beneficiary, anything & everything related to government scholarships can be done on this single online portal.

  1. eHospital –

This online registration system enables people to avail services like online registration, online diagnostic reports, payment of fees and appointment, checking on the availability of blood online, etc.

  1. Digitize India Platform –

This initiative will involve digitization of data and records on a large scale in the country to make easy and quick access to them.

  1. Bharat Net –

This initiative will provide a high-speed digital highway, which will connect all 250,000 gram panchayats of the country. This is the world’s largest rural broadband project which will be using optical fibre.

  1. Wi-Fi Hotspots –

To improve digital connectivity in the country, development of high speed BSNL Wi-Fi hotspots throughout the country is yet another initiative.

  1. Next Generation Network –

This service, launched by BSNL, would replace the 30-year old telephone exchanges to manage all varieties of services like data, voice, multimedia and all other types of communication services.

  1. Electronics Development Fund –

The fund will be set up for supporting the manufacturing of all electronic products which would help to create new jobs and reduce import. The funds will also promote innovation, research and product development for creating a pool of resources within the country.

  1. Centre of Excellence on Internet of Things (IoT) –

In partnerships with NASSCOM, DeitY and ERNET in Bangalore, Centre of Excellence will enable rapid adoption of IoT technology and will also encourage a new strategy for growth. IoT will also help the Indian citizens in services like transport system, electricity, parking, waste management and women’s safety for creating smart cities, smart health services, smart manufacturing and smart agriculture, etc.
