YU Yunicorn, which is a new flagship device from Micromax co-founder Rahul Sharma’s YU Televentures, is set to launch today. The company had earlier sent out press invites confirming the launch on May 19, which was obviously delayed.
Now, the company has put out a teaser video saying YU Yunicorn will redefine flagship phones. The video doesn’t reveal much about the device, except that the smartphone will feature a metal unibody.

We see a design similar to iPhone 6 series and a rectangular home button, which could be the fingerprint scanner in Yu Yunicorn. The video hints at Yunicorn being a Flipkart exclusive device.
Earlier YU promoter Rahul Sharma put out a post on YU’s forum stating that the company is working on a new flagship device that will ‘break all other flagships.’
Check out the video here:
Rahul Sharma’s post read, “Hope all’s well ! It’s been a while since we connected, due to obvious personal reasons –> Its good to be back and re-connecting with YU. Post the YUTOPIA launch, we have been working at a different clock speed and momentum to break all that’s conventional and boring.”
According to Sharma, the phone is “insanely beautiful and it will break some hearts.”
Yu’s last flagship was the Yutopia smartphone that launched at a price of Rs 24,999. While the phone had a great design and a 2K display along with a 21 megapixel camera and 4GB RAM, it was marred by poor software integration.
We’ll have to wait and see whether YU Yunicorn will indeed ‘break’ other flagships.
